Here’s where the towel idea comes from—2 summers ago we stayed by the Aegean in a cute little house with 5 towels total for 3 people. I swam 3 times a day and they swam at least twice. Turkish towels, called pestemels, are so lightweight my towel would dry completely while I was swimming. Also doubled as a skirt while trekking the 10 flights of stairs back to our cute little cabin.

I miss the sea, but brought the towels back to New York—they dry quickly in my tiny airless bathroom here too…
